Sorry that I haven't posted anything in a week or so, I've been busy with school. Finals are coming up, so I'm trying to get all of my school work done and then start studying with less than 15 days left of school (YIKES)! Any pointers/tips for first year college freshmen? I would love to see them, and so would many readers!
Check out my top 5 pointers for college freshmen...
1) Attend class, as much as possible at least. I know that in high school everyone thought it was going to be soooooo cool to ditch class in college, or show up late. Granted, it's pretty cool showing up to class late, but try not to make a habit of it. You miss out on so much information whenever you skip class, and teachers more than likely won't go over it again just for you, unless they're super nice and you visit them during their office hours.
2) Do the homework! Yes, it's college, and yes, homework still matters. I can't even begin to tell you how many times that I have completed my homework and it has provided a little cushion for all of my test grades. It always helps the gluteus maximus when you have a little cushioning!
3) Keep an agenda/planner/sticky notes/etc. whatever it is that you find helpful to remind you about future events coming up. My agenda is now my baby. With so many assignments for different classes at different times of the week, and my work schedule, my agenda has given me that extra bit a of reassurance that I need to keep my sanity in school.
4) Syllabus- you'll more than likely get one from your professor for each class on the first day of school. That syllabus shall be your child. Treat it like one. Listen to it, observe it, love it, treasure it. In the end, it will be your savior for the rest of the semester.
5) Meet with your advisor- Just like in high school when you did a credit check with your counselor, meet up with your advisor. Sometimes you might have multiple advisors. I had three different advisors this year, one for peer advising (where an upperclassman tells you what study habits help and what classes can go towards your degree, mainly necessary to meet up with them as a homework assignment for your first year seminar class), then I had my actual advisor who is for the college of sciences, since I am a Biology major, and finally, a pre-professional advisor who helped me select the proper courses and change my major from Chem to Bio in order to prepare me to apply for graduate school within the next four years.
That's all of my pointers and tips that I can think of at 12:38 in the morning. I hope you guys enjoyed them and they will help you out somehow! If you have any tips, feel free to leave them in the comments section down below... have a fabulous day!
OH! I have another one!
BEWARE- THE FRESHMAN 15 IS REAL! I didn't think that I would gain any weight because I live off campus, but it happens. I have already gained 8 pounds, luckily I have also lost three, so hopefully it will all cancel out in the end, but just a heads up. The "Freshman 15" is no joke, sadly :(

Bates Motel Season One
All I have to say though is that if you haven't seen Bates Motel yet, definitely put it on your watch list and make it the number one thing you must watch next on Netflix, and of course The Office, awesome show by the way. Also, if you haven't seen Alfred Hitchcock's original film, Psycho, please watch that before viewing Bates Motel, since the whole TV series is a prequel to the film.
Anyways, so Bates Motel is a TV show series that is a prequel to the movie, Psycho. It's about a 17 year old boy named Norman Bates (played by Freddie Highmore, who in my opinion, has always been a major cutie) who is a bit different from all the other male human specimens his age. He moves to a new town with his mom, who just so happens to be called Norma Bates (coincidence? I think not! She is played by Vera Fermiga, an Academy Award nominated actress) after the death of his father. They m
ove to this pretty cool ancient house that is also located on the same property as a motel, which his mom plans to open up soon. You get the idea, Norman tries to be normal while helping his mom run a motel in this new town, well add in a few creepy weirdos and teenager problems and that's pretty much a simplified run down of the first season. It's totally awesome!!
If you were wondering, yes, I do have season 2 ready to go, all I need is my cat, a blanket, and a cup of hot cocoa and I'm set for the rest of the night! See you guys later, I'm off to go start season 2!

11/ 11- 11/15
I know that it's been a few days since my first two posts (whoops) it's mainly because of school and my work schedule, haha! Anyways, here is an update for all of you out there. I've been thinking of posting a weekly update on my blog anyways, haha!
11/11- Tuesday
I made this blog, Zoboomafoo and the lady who voiced Ms. Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory died. So sad.
11/12- Wednesday
I had school for pretty much the whole day. It was a very awkward day for me too, like you know those days you get a times where you just feel like the weirdest person in the whole world? Yeah, that was me. I'll tell you a story about happened on that day....
So, back in high school I won the perfect attendance award for all four years of high school (I know, either I'm a super nerd, idiot, or have a high tolerance immune system; let's go with all three), back to the story, so I absolutely HATE being late to anything or not showing up. Well, on Wednesday it was about two minutes before my class was about to start so I was fast walking like those women you see on the side of the road at nine in the morning fast walking to get exercise, and I was turning the corner and who did I run directly into? My professor, yup, literally. Talk about being hella awkward, I literally ran into my professor, so embarrassing. I quickly babbled a sorry and went to class. So, that was my hump day....
11/13- Thursday
This is my work day since it's my one day that I don't have to go to school. The day started off with watching the new Melissa McCarthy movie, Tammy, with my mama. It was a cute little movie talking about a woman and all of her life problems. We rented it from Amazon Prime for that 48 hour rental? Well, it was only 23 hours and they decided to remove it from our account and we didn't get to watch the last ten minutes (EXACTLY 10 MINUTES AMAZON!) because I got called into work. Then for the rest of the day I was at work, got off of work and completed my math homework.
11/14- Friday
Friday is when I have my earliest class, and my least favorite class, not for the reason that it is early, but for the reason that my teacher is an old man who likes to harshly grade all of the essays we write. Since it is my first year at college I don't really know anyone besides people who went t my high school of course. So, this class is where my first and pretty much only non-high school friend sees me everyday. Well, she knows that I get Jamba Juice everyday after class as my own personal achievement for surviving the week. Well, she decided to buy me Jamba Juice! Obviously, this was a huge highlight of my day and I clearly don't deserve her as a friend, haha! Then for the rest of the day I went to work.
11/15- Saturday
Saturday was an awesome day. First, I started off the day by going to work, again. Then, after work I met up with some of my close friends and we went to Rachel's Kitchen (yup, my own kitchen, just kidding, it was the actual restaurant, tricked you, didn't I?) I had a Cesar salad with chicken while we were there, it was da bomb! I would give the meal and the restaurant's environment a 7/10, they had some pretty cool mosaic tables there. After going to Rachel's Kitchen we went to go see a concert that we have been planning on seeing for a while now. The show was Relient K's 10th anniversary tour of their album, Mmhmm, which is a great album by the way! First to play was From Indian Lakes, a pretty cool Indie band that was recommended to me by a cool friend, then it was Blondfire. Now, I knew that Blondfire was going to be one of the opening acts, but sometimes I like to just listen to the music of a new band while they are playing live so I can just get a feel for them, which is how I fell in love with one of my favorite bands (Echosmith, about a month before Cool Kids became a hit on the radio and everyone knew about them). So, I saw them only knowing like three of their songs, which ended up being good because they were great live! They also did a cover of Fleetwood Mac's song Dreams, which was totally awesome! Of course, the main part of the night was Relient K, who put on a fantastic show! Since it was the 10th anniversary of their Mmhmm album, they decided to play every single album off of the album, so a total of 14 songs, then a little intermission, and 10 more songs from their other albums. The show was a whole lot of fun and the people I hung out with the whole time were awesome as well, of course! After the show was over we went to Yogurtland (where I have a membership card because I'm just that cool, ahaha) and then I headed home for the night.
So that was these past few days without blogging all crammed together into one post for you guys to enjoy! Here are a few extra things that have been my favorites during the week...
Favorite Album/Song/Artist of the Week- Collapsible Lung by Relient K
OH! and Taylor Swift's new single, Blank Space! That's a super catchy song!
Favorite Show of the Week- Bates Motel! I'm on the last episode of season one and I'm so excited to watch it, whenever I have the time!
Favorite Food- That Cesar salad with chicken from my kitchen, haha!
Favorite Video Game- Well, I've only had a chance to play like 10 minutes of Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns for the 3DS
Alright, so that's it for this post! I promise that I will write another one sooner than this one! Meanwhile, enjoy these pretty cool pictures my friends and I took during the Relient K show....
